Australian Jewelry Exports to Indonesia Soar 634.30%
Australia shipped $507.5 million worth of jewelry and precious stones to Indonesia in January 2026. These shipments account for 47.5% of all non-oil & gas exports from Australia to Indonesia, valued at $1.07 billion.

Tiffany McDonald, Australia's Ambassador to ASEAN, reports that Australia has been deepening its trade ties with the Southeast Asian bloc over the last few years. Trade ties with the ASEAN bloc have significantly improved since the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2021.
The comprehensive strategic partnership has for the last five years, acted as the guide to strengthening greater economic cooperation. Additionally, Australia and Indonesia belong to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement that removes all tariffs on goods traded within the bloc.
