# Port of Melbourne and VICT Agree 26-Year Extension to 2066

The Port of Melbourne and International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) through its subsidiary Victoria International Container Terminal Ltd (VICT) have announced a 26-year extension to their contract.

VICT will now manage and operate the Webb Dock East terminal at the Port of Melbourne for another 40 years. ICTSI has undertaken long-term investments since the original lease was granted in 2014

The Port of Melbourne has posted strong growth hitting arecord high $154 billion worth of trade handled in 2025. VICT is adding aneo-Panamax ship-to-shore quay crane, four hybrid automated straddle carriers and two container stacking blocks.

The extension will allow increased investment in capacity, systems and people to support trade and provide operating continuity and certainty. VICT and Port of Melbourne have a shared commitment to keep the portas the freight capital of Australia.
