Factories in China are only gradually reopening after the 3 March Lantern Festival, leaving very limited new cargo and making it difficult for carriers to implement the full 1 March GRI of USD500/1,000/1,000 per 20'GP/40'GP/40'HC as planned.

Most early-March sailings are already filled with rolled pre-CNY cargo, demand remains extremely weak, and several carriers are still pending final GRI decisions while others have updated their Week 1 levels.

Meanwhile, shipping lines have now announced a further GRI of USD 300/600/600  per 20'GP/40'GP/40'HC effective 15 March 2026, even as the market stays soft heading into mid-month.

MTF Logistics will keep you posted if there are any further updates.
